Terry Chapman

Terry ChapmanTerry Chapman is a sixth generation British Columbian, who was born in Whonnock, BC. He is a self-taught artist, whose subject matter has been largely influenced by the people and the environment which have surrounded him while living his life on the West Coast.

Chapman has owned and operated three galleries since starting his professional career as an artist in his late 20s. Over the years he has worked in a variety of mediums, including paint, stone and wood.

For the past 16 years, Chapman has displayed and sold his art at his gallery, The Vancouver Island Carving Company. He is best known for his life-size carvings of wildlife and characters which can be seen outside his gallery, on the side of the Island Highway, five minutes north of Chemainus.

Chapman is an award winning artist, whose work is in private collections worldwide
